Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced an oil discovery with a production capacity of up to 100,<> barrels per day in the southeastern province of Sirnak. He added that after this discovery and previous discoveries in the sea and the nuclear power plants it plans to construct, Turkey will become an energy exporter.
Erdogan said the reason why oil did not leave the territory of our country is to shackle our hands and feet using the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and international oil companies. He said Ankara understood much better why what he described as imperialist powers transferred large quantities of weapons and money to the PKK.
