Khader Adnan, 45, a leader of the Islamic Jihad movement, was arrested on February 5. Adnan was placed in administrative detention, a controversial procedure used by Israel to detain Palestinians without charge or trial.

He was due to appear on Thursday before a military court in Ofer in the occupied West Bank to decide on his release, but the hearing was called off. His wife said he was being held in the Ramle prison clinic and that he "refuses any help or medical examination. He is in a cell where the conditions of detention are very harsh"
