A demonstration against the death penalty in Iran took place on Tuesday, May 23 in Paris, a few steps from the embassy of the Islamic Republic. The prefecture had prohibited the rally from taking place in front of the building.

Participants mention enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, live ammunition, abuses of all kinds, including torture in jails. The pace of executions is intensifying, especially in the last twenty days, says Darya Djavahery-Farsi of the Neda Association of Iran.
