Four members of the American far-right group Proud Boys have been convicted of sedition crimes for their role in the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Among those convicted is former leader Enrique Tarrio. The Proud Boys were formed in 2016 and describe themselves as Western chauvinists romanticizing a traditional, male-dominated Western culture, which some see as a cover for deeper racism. The group has been involved in clashes with Black Lives Matters protesters and left-wing activists.
