[HIGHLIGHTS] Financial crisis situation at Härnösand's schools – "Spreading a lot of concern"

Härnösand municipality is in a financially tough situation. A deficit of more than SEK 30 million is expected during the year, corresponding to approximately 60 full-year positions.

The economic situation is mainly about severe cuts in state aid. The preschools are particularly affected by the situation and are expected to have a budget deficit of SEK 16.8 million, which corresponds to 38 full-time positions.How and when any cuts will be made is currently unclear. The budget framework for the school was taken during the summer of 2022 and was adopted with the known factors at the time.
