Oleksandr Viktorovich is the 33rd soldier from Apostolove to be taken to his final resting place. He leaves behind his wife Irina and children aged 6 and 8 – Oleksandr and Sofia.
"It's our best guys and girls who sacrifice the most precious thing they have, their lives," says the mayor of the town, whose own husband is fighting at the front. SVT's team attended the funeral and was present at the memorial service for the soldier.
