There is a shortage of family homes around Sweden. In Norrköping municipality, for example, there are currently 311 children and young people placed in foster care.

20 children are in the queue for foster care and five are in need of emergency homes. It may be due to illness, substance abuse or other personal problems of the parents, but it can also be the child's behaviour or needs that make it necessary for a family home, says Ingela Klint, Head of Unit at the Family Home Unit.
