FIA reject Ferrari's request for a review of a penalty imposed on its driver Carlos Sainz during the early Australian Grand Prix race. The 28-year-old Spaniard was sanctioned in Melbourne for squeezing compatriot Fernando Alonso's Aston-Martin and sending the former world champion into a head-to-tail.

The five-second penalty had pushed SainZ from 4th to 12th place, out of the points, as the race had ended under the safety car regime. Ferrari had appealed the sanction.
