The European Commission has approved Microsoft's $69 billion takeover of U.S. video game publisher Activision Blizzard.

The green light is conditional on Microsoft complying with measures proposed by the American giant to ensure competition in the market for dematerialized games accessible via streaming. The British Competition Authority (CMA) announced on 26th April its decision to block the mega-merger, judging the risks too high for competition. The merger, if completed, would create the third player in the sector in terms of turnover, behind Tencent and Sony.
