Recep Tayyip Erdogan was sworn in this Saturday as president of Turkey in a ceremony attended by more than thirty international leaders. Erdogan extends his mandate for another five years after winning the second round of presidential elections with 52.18% of the vote.

The event was attended by leaders close to Erdogan such as Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban and Speaker of the Lower House of the Russian Parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin. Another visit to Erdogan's inauguration that has generated surprise is that of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
