The forest meeting is an informal part of Sweden's EU Presidency. During the meeting, forest directors from the member states will discuss forest issues.

Environmental organizations also take the opportunity to show their picture of the situation in the Swedish forests. "Despite the fact that Swedish politicians want to emphasise how good we are, forestry here is going in completely the wrong direction," says Maria Karlsson of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. "It's like this when you discuss forest issue, it provokes debate," says departemenstrådet Helene Holstein.
