The nearly 500 students at Carlshöjdsskolan in Umeå can hopefully return on Monday, one week after the water damage. Students and staff have been forced to stay at home while the municipality tries to solve the problem of the flooding of the basement that was discovered on Monday.

It is still uncertain what the repairs will cost, but hopefully the school will have power again on Friday, says Niklas Bergström, operations coordinator at Ume Swedish municipality. The water has knocked out all electronics, including the fire alarm and emergency lighting.
