Emmanuel Macron went to Dunkirk on Friday, May 12 to discuss the establishment of a battery factory for electric vehicles of the Taiwanese group ProLogium. Concern is growing about Chinese and American competition on the European side.

Europe is trying to catch up considerably in the production of electric batteries, but risks missing the boat in the face of fierce competition.Nearly 50 lithium battery factories are to be built in Europe by 2030, whereas they are almost non-existent today. Germany is the most advanced country with the equivalent of 498 GWh of projects in the works, followed by Hungary and Norway.
