Bruno Le Maire ruled out financing the ecological transition by resorting to public debt and taxes. An additional €66 billion per year, including up to €34 billion in public funds, will be needed to achieve the objective of a 2030% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
The report was published as Elisabeth Borne presented on Monday her plan to accelerate the reduction of greenhousegas emissions from the France by 2030. The number two of the government evoked four tracks to finance the "very high cost" of the transition.
