Edmond Kipngetich ran the 21 kilometers in a time of 1:01.46. Susan Chembai, also from Kenya, won the women's category.
The race was held in Göteborgsvarvet, Sweden, where the marathon takes place. The winner was part of a group of eight runners, mostly Kenyans, who had gained a clear lead at five kilometers. The pace was high, so the lead group gradually became smaller when some did not quite keep up.
