The Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) exchanged military reinforcements on Wednesday. The army said the move was done without joint coordination.

The RSF said it was carrying out its duties in accordance with the law. The military said it would not accept the presence of the RSF in the northern part of the country, where it has an air base and a number of other military bases. The force was given 24 hours to leave the area, but did not do so, sources said.
