Argentine judiciary on Tuesday upheld on appeal the upcoming trial of eight medical professionals. They had been referred to court last year for potential negligence that led to Maradona's death.
The professionals appealed in 2022, accused of homicide with potential aggravating circumstances. They challenged either the dismissal at all, or the retained chief, some calling for a reclassification as manslaughter. No date has been provided by the Appeals Chamber for a trial, which is not expected to take place before 2024.
