Colombian President Gustavo Petro has called for the resignation of his entire government. The request, confirmed by senior officials on condition of anonymity, was not made official by Petro.

On Tuesday, he had evoked on Twitter a "redesign of the government" after ending alliances with the main traditional parties. The Liberal Party, the Conservative Party and the centrist U Party, which distanced themselves from the government on Tuesday, opposed his initiatives. The president's first executive was based on the center, the right, and academia.
