Dissident of the FARC (Armed Forces of the Colombian Revolution) said it was "ready" to start peace negotiations with the Colombian government. The announcement was made Sunday during a large "popular" rally in southern Colombia.

President Gustavo Petro, elected in the summer of 2022, aims to restore a "total peace" in the country, after more than half a century of internal conflict and the actions of many armed groups. "We are the people's army (...). Communities must be part of the negotiations," said an EMC-FARC commander.
