Violent clashes broke out on Monday 29 May between Serb demonstrators, Kosovo police and troops of the NATO-led force (KFOR) Clashes in northern Kosovo leave dozens injured. Thousands of demonstrators gathered this morning in four towns in the north of the country: North Mitrovica, Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok.

They oppose the entry into office of the new Albanian mayors, elected last April in an election boycotted by Serb voters who do not recognize the authority of Pristina.
