After three years of travel restrictions, linked to China's health policy, the country is breaking the record for travelers. The number of domestic trips, made during the five days of Labor Day holidays, has exploded: +71% compared to 2022.

On the spending side, however, tourists spent less. Due to the slow poison of the housing bubble, the global slowdown that may dampen exports, an aging China, households still do not want to spend the $2.600 trillion in savings accumulated during the pandemic.
