Woman was 36 weeks pregnant when she went into labor at Norrlands University Hospital. Despite weakness, among other things, the birth was continued vaginally with the help of a suction cup.

Complications arose and the child died. "It's traumatic and hard for everyone, especially for parents, but also for staff. This is something we really want to avoid," says Bengt Andersson, Chief Medical Officer at Region Västerbotten. The region has investigated the case and developed measures to reduce the risk of something similar happening again.
