A species of lion, considered extinct since 2004 in the Lake Chad region, is again present. The scene was captured in Sena Oura National Park, the image taken at night by a camera trap.

The lioness is literally placed in front of the sensor. If the presence of the lion in Chad is excellent news, the feline remains a critically endangered species in the region. The last appearance of a lion in this natural park dates back to 2004, at the time poaching was "organized and ruthless" say specialists.
