Caribbean countries strongly call on US to curb gun spills. About 80 percent of the guns involved in the region came from the United States.

The governments of Caribbean countries and all sectors of society have appealed to the U.S. to strengthen management and reduce gun spillage. The illegal flow of guns from theUnited States into the Caribbean has led to a surge in violence in many countries and deterioration of public security. According to Interpol, firearms are used in more than 70 percent of murders in the Caribbean.
