Four members of the far-right group Proud Boys have been convicted of "sedition" in the U.S. They were involved in the assault on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The jury could not agree on the charge of'sedition' for the fifth defendant. The group is linked to white supremacism and staunch supporters of former President Donald Trump. The previous conviction in this capacity was almost a quarter of a century ago, according to US media reports. It is a charge punishable by 20 years in prison, but very difficult to prove.
