"The Daughters of Olfa" explores, from the inside, how two of the four daughters of a Tunisian mother with no history were able to become jihadists. Tunisian Kaouther Ben Hania is one of two African directors in the running for the Palme d'Or at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
"My film is a film about transmission. from mother to daughter," she says. "I am on the border between documentary and fiction, and I think there are no limits," she adds.
