Burkina Faso: death of the "Lion of Boulkiemdé", comrade-in-arms and close to Thomas Sankara. Boukary Kaboré, 73, died at the age of 73 on the night of Friday to Saturday, May 13 following a long illness at the Yalgado Ouédraogo hospital in Ouagadougou.
He was born in 1950 in Poa, in the center-west of the country. He joined the Military Academy of Yaoundé from where he graduated with the rank of second lieutenant in 1977.
