British monarchy refuses to return to Ethiopia the remains of a prince captured in 1868. Prince Alemayehu, captured as a child in Ethiopia by the British army, died at the age of 18, in 1879, in Leeds (northern England) of pneumonia.

Queen Victoria, who appreciated him, wished that he be buried in the royal crypt of St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. According to Buckingham Palace, it is impossible to exhume the remains without damaging those of George V and Henry VIII, the king of six marriages.
