A dozen civilians were killed in Kérou, in northwestern Benin, on the night of Monday 1 to Tuesday 2 May, about 600 kilometers from the Beninese capital of Cotonou. The army was immediately deployed.

Residents preferred to leave Kaobabou after these killings described as "senseless" by many Beninese. RFI learns that the defense and security forces are on site. With an air deployment and men, they comb the area. The attackers also left with livestock, sources said.
