Shanghai Motor Show is being held in China from April 18 to 27, with opening to the public this weekend of April 22-23. 1,000 exhibitors, a hundred new models and a million visitors expected in a market where foreign brands are finding it increasingly difficult to find a place.
Sales of BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes have fallen by more than 20% since the beginning of this year 2023. Electric vehicles account for 1/4 of car sales in China and local builders are often subsidized by the state.
