Austrian village of Hallstatt has installed a wooden barrier to obstruct the view of the Alps to protest against mass tourism. After the Covid-19 pandemic, this place has once again become popular with Internet users.

The barrier was erected in the hope that tourists would no longer flock to one of the most popular places to take selfies, generating noise pollution. The duration of its installation will depend on the reaction to this decision, according to an official of the municipality who does not wish to give her name.
