"We are at about 500 cases for the month of March," said the minister. Figures show a decrease since the October peak, he said.
Two philosophy professors were suspended for three months from their duties. "This type of speech does not fall within the right of free expression," he said of their remarks. The figures are expected to fall again in April, after the end of Ramadan and the "spring break" for students, he added. The French government says it is investigating the case of the two professors.
