As of April 28, Chad has evacuated 221 of its nationals from Sudan, according to France Press Agency. Some of the 131 Chadians who arrived the day before with a first flight told RFI of their relief.

"I didn't hear the shots. That's what relieved me a lot," says one Chadian returnee. The majority of those on board the first flight were women and children, RFI has been told. The Chadian embassy in Khartoum has organized three flights to allow nationals to return to the country.
