Armenia asks the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to order Azerbaijan to withdraw "all personnel" deployed since April 23 along a vital corridor to the Nagorno-Karabakh region. On April 23, Azerbaijan set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the Lachin Pass, the only road linking Armenia and the breakaway region.
Baku's establishment of the checkpoint in April escalated already strong tensions between the two former Soviet republics. The court called on the two countries in December 2021 to stop racial hatred and avoid exacerbate their rift.
