Social Democrats received SEK 152 million from lottery revenue in 2021. The government's and SD's proposal to stop political lottery activities is aimed at the Social Democrats.
Magdalena Andersson believes that the proposal follows a pattern. Attempts have been made to silence civil society, journalists but also the Swedish authorities, she says. "It is terrible that we have such a situation in Sweden where the government specifically wants to target legislation that goes against the largest opposition party. It's very un-Swedish," says Andersson.
