In 1994, AIDS was the leading cause of death among Americans between the ages of 25 and 44. In 2000, an agreement was reached allowing developing countries to manufacture generic drugs to combat AIDS. In 2010, "Berlin Patient" Timothy Brown was cured of AIDS after undergoing a bone marrow transplant.
