Chinese President Xi Jinping made contact with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. Russian Foreign Ministry accused what it called "Washington puppets" in Kiev of undermining peace initiatives.
White House welcomed the call, but said it was too early to know if the call would lead to a peace deal. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stressed that identifying the "right party" in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine does not help, stressing that the priority should be peace negotiations.
