American actor Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized because of a "medical complication", but he is recovering, his family said. The 55-year-old comedian is under observation at a medical facility in the state of Georgia, where he is currently shooting a new film for Netflix.

The medical emergency took place outside of the filming of "Back in Action," a new Netflix movie where Foxx is set to co-star with Cameron Diaz, according to CNN. He won an Oscar in 2004 for his bluffing portrayal of soul legend singer Ray Charles in the biopic "Ray".
