Boris Ravignon, mayor of Charleville-Mézières (Ardennes), was rejected Wednesday by the Parliament. This is the first time that a candidate proposed by the Elysee, at Ademe or elsewhere, has been rejected since this procedure introduced in 2008.

A total of 57 deputies and senators voted against, and 32 in favour. The Senate committee castigated the procedure conducted by the government, its president Jean-François Longeot, UDI senator of Doubs.
