At least 4 people, including one suspect, were killed and others wounded in a shooting in a residential area of Farmington, New Mexico. Police said two of their officers were wounded in the shootout with the suspect killed at the scene.
The incident led to the closure of several public schools in the city of about 46,000 people. This year, the United States has seen more than 215 mass shootings, according to the Archive of Armed Violence. The identity of the suspect is not yet known, AFP reported.
