Ten years after the shutdown of ArcelorMittal's blast furnaces, the cathedrals of fire are still rusting in the sky of Moselle. At the end of 2018, the cessation of activity will officially become final.

The local economy has recovered rather well from the shock, helped by the boom in neighbouring Luxembourg, where some 120,000 cross-border workers go to work every day. The demolition of the site more than a century old is on the agenda.
