The trial against five people accused of planning the kidnapping of Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) has begun at the Higher Regional Court (OLG) of Koblenz. One of the defendants held up a piece of paper on a file folder before the trial began.
In Cyrillic script it read: "With our brother. For peace and friendship. War against fascism" The overarching goal of the group is said to have been the elimination of the free democratic basic order of the Federal Republic of Germany.
