[HIGHLIGHTS] "There were no special surprises": Erdogan leads the presidential election in Turkey

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with 49.4% of the vote, is leading in the presidential elections in Turkey. His main competitor, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has almost 45%.

This follows from the data of the CEC of Turkey. Due to the fact that none of the candidates has overcome the threshold of 50%, a second round will be held on May 28. According to experts, the outcome of the struggle for the presidency in Turkey will be determined by the results of two rounds.
