35 years ago, the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles (INF Treaty) entered into force. According to the document, the USSR and the United States got rid of missile weapons with a range of 500 to 5500 km.

The agreement became an important factor in maintaining strategic stability, but in 2019, under the pretext of accusing the Russian Federation of violating the INF Treaty, the U.S. withdrew from the treaty. In response, Russia made a similar decision.
