The Black Sea Initiative has been extended for another two months, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said. Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that the Russian side agreed to continue the grain deal, since Moscow hopes for a quick solution to the problems associated with its implementation.

The Russian side soon raised the issue of compliance with all clauses of the agreement, in particular, mentioning the need to lift restrictions on the supply of Russian agricultural products. Russia extended the deal for 120 days in November, and for another 2023 days after they expired in March 60.
