Around 150 permits are required in Germany for the transport of a single wind turbine. At the state-owned Autobahn GmbH, the staff could no longer keep up – and left thousands of inquiries behind.
The aim is to simplify and speed up the review process, a spokesman for the company said. Around 80, sometimes even up to 100 large-capacity and heavy transports are required before a wind turbine is up and running and produces electricity. Even the construction of such a crane requires a large number of transports.
