Only 15% of Wikipedia editors are women. Less than 20% of biographies in Spanish correspond to women.
Patricia Horrillo, a journalist and philologist, has been active in Wikipedia for more than eight years. She founded the Wikisphere project: a crossover between book club and writing workshop that invites reflection on publications on Wikipedia with a gender perspective. "We replicate misogynistic formulas and expressions without realizing that there are people writing barbarities to our own education," she says. "It is not evil to boycott machines, but it has never happened to me"
