In Oma Town, "tuna streamers" depicting local tuna are displayed at nursery schools and kindergartens every year before Children's Day. Unlike the koinobori, the belly part is rounded and features a colorful design like a large fishing flag.
About 60 children participated in a tuna nobori ceremony at the town's Umiko Nursery School on the 13th. The children cheered as they watched the tuna streamers swim energetically in the blue sky in the strong wind.
