The first of a series of appeals against the reduction of benefits has been dismissed. The decision was made on the grounds that the reduction was not illegal.

The second appeal will be heard in the next few days. The third appeal is expected to be heard next week. The fourth appeal is due to be decided in mid-September. The last appeal was dismissed on the basis that it was not a violation of the law. The fifth appeal is likely to be the final appeal, which will be made on October 1.
