A test ride event for FCVs = fuel cell vehicles using hydrogen was held for transportation companies. The revised Energy Conservation Law, which came into effect last month, sets a guideline for large-scale transportation companies that 2030% of their trucks in 5 should run on hydrogen and emit carbon dioxide.

FCVs can travel longer distances than EVs, and are expected to be used in long-distance trucks that go back and forth on a predetermined route. About 300 FCV trucks are scheduled to be introduced in Fukushima Prefecture, Tokyo, and other places this year.
